Navodya Group Pvt. Ltd. : ER. Chemical Hardener is an active liquid silicate densifier and chemical hardener designed to increase the surface strength, density, and abrasion resistance of concrete floors, industrial slabs, and cementitious pavements.
What is ER Chemical Hardener and How Does It Function?
ER Chemical Hardener is a deep-penetrating reactive chemical solution. When applied to green or cured concrete, it penetrates deep into the pores and reacts with free calcium hydroxide (lime) present in the cement matrix to produce hard, insoluble calcium silicate hydrate (CSH) crystals.
This chemical crystallization permanently densifies the top layer of concrete, turning a porous, dusting floor into a solid, highly durable surface. It dramatically enhances abrasion resistance against forklift traffic and machinery, resists oil and chemical staining, and eliminates dusting permanently.
Application Guide for Industrial Floors
Follow these steps to achieve maximum surface density and wear resistance on concrete floors.
- Surface Preparation: Ensure the concrete surface is clean, sound, dry, and free from curing compounds, oil, and laitance.
- Application Timing: On new concrete, apply as soon as the slab is hard enough to walk on. On cured concrete, apply directly after cleaning.
- Uniform Flooding: Apply ER Chemical Hardener evenly using a low-pressure sprayer, soft-bristle broom, or squeegee, keeping the surface wet for 30 minutes.
- Agitation: Gently broom the liquid into the surface to facilitate deep chemical penetration into concrete pores.
- Final Cleanup: Once the solution begins to gel (after 30-40 minutes), squeegee off any excess material and lightly flush with clean water.
Permanent Floor Densification
Unlike surface coatings that peel or wear off, ER Chemical Hardener reacts inside the concrete matrix for lifelong hardness.
Zero VOC & Non-Toxic
Water-based, odorless, and non-flammable, making it completely safe for occupied warehouses, food plants, and factories.
Frequently Asked Questions About Chemical Hardener
It reacts with free lime (calcium hydroxide) in the concrete to form crystalline calcium silicate hydrate (CSH), filling microscopic voids and locking the surface together into a dense mass.
Yes. It is ideal for retrofitting older industrial floors. Simply clean the floor thoroughly to remove oil and grime before flooding with ER Chemical Hardener.
Yes. Concrete dusting is caused by weak surface unreacted lime disintegrating under traffic. ER Chemical Hardener converts that free lime into stone-hard crystals, permanently eliminating dusting.
Treated floors can typically be opened to light foot traffic within 4 to 6 hours after drying, and full forklift or heavy industrial traffic within 24 hours.
No. Because it densifies within the concrete rather than forming a topical plastic film, it maintains the natural slip resistance of the concrete finish.
