Navodya Group Pvt. Ltd. : ER. Wall Care Putty is a specialized damp-resistant white cement-based putty developed to protect exterior and interior walls from atmospheric moisture, salt efflorescence, and surface flaking.
What is ER Wall Care Putty and How Does It Function?
ER Wall Care Putty is engineered with white Portland cement, specialized water-repellent siliconates, and adhesion-promoting polymers. It is specifically formulated to withstand damp climates, driving rain, and continuous moisture exposure without softening or delaminating.
When applied over sand-cement plaster or concrete, it seals surface pores and creates an impenetrable yet vapor-permeable barrier. It acts as an armor layer that safeguards premium exterior and interior paint coatings from peeling, patchy discoloration, and mold growth.
Application Guide & Surface Prep
Proper mixing and surface preparation ensure maximum weather resistance and long service life.
- Surface Inspection: Repair deep structural cracks with suitable mortar before putty application.
- Cleaning: Scrub the wall to remove dirt, grease, moss, and loose plaster. Wash thoroughly with clean water.
- Water Saturation: Moisten the wall well before application, ensuring no standing water remains on the surface.
- Uniform Mixing: Mix ER Wall Care Putty with clean water (36-38% by weight) using a drill mixer until a smooth consistency is obtained.
- Two-Coat Application: Apply two thin coats (total thickness 1.5 mm). Allow 4 to 6 hours between coats and sand lightly before painting.
All-Weather Durability
Engineered to withstand heavy rainfall, intense summer heat, and winter dampness without cracking or fading.
Breathable Wall Protection
Permits trapped internal vapor to escape naturally while preventing external liquid water from entering.
Frequently Asked Questions About Wall Care Putty
It contains active hydrophobic polymers that line the microscopic pores of the putty layer, preventing liquid water from penetrating while allowing the wall to breathe naturally.
It is always best to apply directly to bare plastered walls. If applying over old paint, completely scrape off any chalking, flaking, or glossy paint films using a wire brush or scraper first.
Allow 4 to 6 hours for the first coat to dry before applying the second coat. In cold or humid weather, allow up to 8 hours for complete drying.
After the putty has dried completely and been lightly sanded, applying a quality exterior or interior primer ensures uniform paint absorption and maximum topcoat lifespan.
By preventing water seepage and efflorescence from reaching the paint film, it stops the root causes of flaking, peeling, and bubbling.
